Competences
In addition to the competences for Graduates from Ain Shams University and all Engineering Programs, the Computational Architecture and Intelligent Urban Design Program graduate must be able to:
- Investigate foundational and contemporary architectural design principles, drawing on History and theory of Architecture, to create innovative, functional, and aesthetically compelling architectural and urban spaces.
- Utilize advanced digital tools—including BIM, GIS, IoT, and immersive technologies (AR/VR/XR)—for smart city planning, architectural design development, and stakeholder engagement.
- Utilize artificial intelligence, data-driven analytics, and generative/parametric design methodologies to create, optimize, and refine complex architectural forms and adaptive urban environments, enhancing efficiency, creativity, and resource optimization.
- Demonstrate expertise in digital fabrication methods to produce precise, customized architectural and urban components, including advanced prototyping and manufacturing techniques.
- Innovate in modular construction techniques and adaptive design systems that respond to changing urban conditions and user requirements, enabling flexibility and resilience in the built environment.
- Design sustainable, climate-responsive, and adaptive buildings and urban environments that prioritize human needs, user comfort, and well-being.
- Apply universal, human-centered, and inclusive design strategies to ensure accessibility, adaptability, and equity in architectural and urban solutions, addressing diverse human needs.
- Incorporate smart systems and interactive media (including IoT) to create responsive environments at architectural and urban scales.
- Communicate design concepts effectively through advanced visualization, digital storytelling, interactive presentations, and precise technical drawings/documentation for diverse audiences.
- Lead interdisciplinary and innovative projects that combine computational tools, architectural creativity, and stakeholder needs to address complex societal and environmental challenges.
